When Barbara Parks, author of the popular Junie B. Jones book series, saw her grandson’s sonogram, she wondered what he did in utero all day. That thought inspired her to write a book unlike anything she’s penned before.

On Jan. 22, 2008, Parks’ newest publication, “Ma! There’s nothing to do in here!” will hit shelves. It’s said to be a great gift for expectant mothers or young children waiting for their new brother or sister to arrive.

On Feb. 1, Parks reads at the Schwartz Bookshop in Brookfield, 17145 W. Bluemound Rd., to promote this new book, that includes cute lines coming from a fetus who’s lamenting the lack of action from inside his mom’s tummy.

“Not a sandbox or swings, or those monkey bar things,” he says.

Molly Snyder started writing and publishing her work at the age 10, when her community newspaper printed her poem, "The Unicorn.” Since then, she's expanded beyond the subject of mythical creatures and written in many different mediums but, nearest and dearest to her heart, thousands of articles for OnMilwaukee.

Molly is a regular contributor to FOX6 News and numerous radio stations as well as the co-host of "Dandelions: A Podcast For Women.” She's received five Milwaukee Press Club Awards, served as the Pfister Narrator and is the Wisconsin State Fair’s Celebrity Cream Puff Eating Champion of 2019.
