Due to impending storms, tonight's Downtown Battle of the Bands competition will move from Pere Marquette Park indoors to The Pabst Theater.

The night's entertainment will continue as scheduled, beginning at 6:15 p.m. with a two-song opener by Nashville pop-country singer/songwriter and guest judge Erica Hoyt.

The night will feature a lineup of local music, including performances by October Soul, Take Solace, In This Room, Waiting to Run, Outta State Plates, Jimmy B & The Warrentones and Luvah. The winning band will receive a performing slot at Summerfest 2012.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free, and The Pabst will provide beverage service. Attendees can also participate in music trivia between sets for a chance to win prizes.

The annual Downtown Battle of the Bands is just one of the events held as part of Downtown Employee Appreciation Week, which features special events, giveaways and local discounts to show appreciation for Milwaukee's downtown employees and showcase the city's amenities.
