"Bar Month" at OnMilwaukee.com is back for another round! The whole month of February, we're serving up intoxicatingly fun bars and club articles -- including guides, unique features, drink recipes and more. Grab a designated driver and dive in!

The votes are in and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best: Bars & Clubs, 2009. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all month long in the Bars and Clubs section of OnMilwaukee.com.

A year ago, Sobelman's Pub and Grill finished a close second to Murphy's Irish Pub in OnMilwaukee's balloting for Best Marquette Bar.

This year, the roles are reversed.

Sobelman's, located in a former Schlitz tavern building at 1900 W. St. Paul Ave., is renowned for its Black Angus burgers -- served on tasty buns with three cheeses, jalapenos and fried onions -- and its Bloody Marys.

Owners Dave and Melanie Sobelman, who have courted business from Marquette students and alums for nearly a decade, serve cold beer and good food in a clean, cozy environment.

Murphy's, which is located at 1615 W. Wells St., is located at the heart of Marquette's campus and is a more classic college bar. Our editors chose it because it embodies what a college bar should be. It's packed Thursday through Sunday and offers some of the best drink specials in town.
