Boswell Books has released its September event schedule.  Included in the month of events are two local authors.

Alan J. Strekow, author of "Cyril Colnik: Man of Iron," is a UWM graduate and is scheduled to appear at Boswell Books on Friday, Sept. 9 to at 7 p.m.  Strekow will discuss Colnik's art and architecture.

Colnik was the workman of choice for many Milwaukee elite when building new homes in the late 19th century; Capt. Frederick Pabst, Charles Allis, Herman Uihlein and Lloyd Smith all hired Colnik when building their residences.  Strekow's 200-page coffee table book tells Colnik's life story and highlights examples of his work from the 1893 World Columbian Exposition in Chicago to his residential work in Milwaukee.

Lesley Kagen is scheduled to visit at Boswell Books Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m.  Kagen, a New York Times bestselling author, is at Boswell Books to talk to about her newest novel, "Good Graces."  Taking place in the summer of 1960 in Milwaukee, "Good Graces" follows the events of Kagen's bestseller, "Whistling in the Dark."
