Milwaukee is already renowned for incontrovertibly baseball’s best tailgate scene – suck it, St. Louis; you might have 11 World Series titles and the very cool Ballpark Village development, but we have grilling in the parking lot! – and this year the Brewers are teaming with Block Party Suites to create a pop-up destination that makes it even better for their fun-loving fans.
The "Brew Crew Bar," located in the Yount Lot on the east side of Miller Park, will offer a unique option for tailgating that improves and gussies up the pregame experience for early-arriving fans. The Bar will feature live entertainment (DJs and music acts!), multiple bars (beer and mixed/soft drinks!), lounge furniture (sitting!), outdoor heaters (crucial in April!), tailgate games (Cornhole!), phone chargers (so you can keep Snapchatting the fun!) and premium suites (VIP status!) that provide rooftop viewing platforms and satellite TV.
Yeah, OK, actually Brew Crew Bar sounds pretty awesome. If you can't tailgate at Maryvale Baseball Park, warm and carefree, in the Spring Training Arizona sunshine, this definitely seems like the next best thing.
The new pregame destination will be open to the public for approximately 40 games in 2017, debuting Opening Day on April 3 and including all Saturday and Sunday games, as well as select Friday night contests. According to the team, for many of the remaining games, the Brew Crew Bar will be available for private group rentals.
"We are always looking to elevate the Miller Park fan experience, and that starts with the pregame tailgating," said Brewers Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger in a statement. "The new Brew Crew Bar takes this experience to a new level, with features that will appeal to the many Brewers fans who embrace the tailgating that is a staple at Miller Park."
The Bar will be accessible three hours prior to games and can accommodate 150 guests. Presumably, no Cubs fans allowed.
This is the Brewers’ first collaboration with Block Party Suites, a fast-growing hospitality and entertainment business, founded in 2014, which partners with sports and music properties to develop pop-up fan communities inside and outside of venues.
