The Milwaukee Brewers have signed left-handed pitcher Boone Logan to a one-year contract with a club option for 2019. The announcement was made by General Manager David Stearns.

"Boone adds a veteran left-handed presence to our staff who has pitched in high pressure games throughout his career," said Stearns. "He provides a quality addition to the returning members of our bullpen."

Logan, 33, owns a career record of 29-23 with a 4.47 ERA and 3 saves in 619 appearances, all coming in relief, with Chicago-AL (2006-08), Atlanta (2009), New York-AL (2010-13), Colorado (2014-16) and Cleveland (2017). He has produced 465 career strikeouts in 431.1 innings pitched. Opponents have batted .261, including .234 against left-handed hitters. He has pitched in the postseason three times (2010, 2011, 2012), posting a 2.35 ERA in 13 outings (7.2ip, 7h, 2r, 2er, 1bb, 9k).

Logan went 1-0 with a 4.71 ERA in 38 appearances last season with Cleveland. He struck out 28 batters in 21.0 innings pitched as both left and right-handed hitters batted .250.

In addition to today’s signing of Boone Logan, the Brewers granted the release of right-handed pitcher Taylor Jungmann so that he could pursue an opportunity in Japan. Jungmann, the team’s first-round pick (12th overall) in the 2011 First-Year Player Draft, pitched parts of three seasons (2015-17) with the Brewers. The 40-man roster is at capacity.
