Good news: We're almost through the summer doldrums of the sports schedule! The Brewers playoff hunt is heating up, Jordan Love and the Packers are prepping for a whole new era, and now it's almost tip-off for the Bucks as the NBA today announced Giannis and company's schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
The Bucks' latest campaign at reclaiming the NBA title will begin at home with a nationally televised TNT matchup against Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers. From there, the Bucks' slate will have 18 other nationally televised games – including yet another prime Christmas Day matchup, this time on the road against the New York Knicks at 11 a.m. – along with high-profile home bouts against the Miami Heat (Oct. 30 and Feb. 13), famed rookie Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs (Dec. 19), the Golden State Warriors (Jan. 13), the defending champ Denver Nuggets (Feb. 12) and the Los Angeles Lakers (March 26).

If you're wondering what the deal is with those blue-outlined games and that weird week off in the middle of December, that's the new In-Season Tournament, the commissioner's personal pet project to make players care more about the regular season. Basically, during the first full month of the season, some games will additionally count as In-Season Tournament matchups, with the teams with the best results in their respective groups moving on to a bonus mid-season bracket running Dec. 4-9. The winner gets the NBA Cup, which is a thing I guess, and money, which is never a bad thing I suppose. For a more in-depth explanation, watch this:

Sure. Anyways, the Bucks will play all four of their group stage In-Season Tournament games in November: Friday, Nov. 3 at home against the Knicks; Friday, Nov. 17 at the Charlotte Hornets; Friday, Nov. 24 hosting the Washington Wizards; and Tuesday, Nov. 28 on the road against the Heat. We'll see how much further they go from there – aka we'll see how much they care about a made-up trophy with no real history or meaning.
