Brady Beach on Warren Avenue, just off Brady Street, will host a fundraiser for Cass Street School's athletics program on Thursday, Aug.24, from 5 to 8 p.m.

For a $30 minimum donation you'll get food and drinks donated by Brady Beach organizers and music provided by DJ Marcus Doucette.

Funds raised will benefit MPS' Cass Street School in the Brady Street neighborhood.

During the event Cass Street School Principal Tyrone Nichols will talk about the importance of a strong neighborhood school.

"The Cass Street School community is very excited about this event as proceeds will be used to maintain and enhance critical athletic programs at Cass and offset the cost of league registration fees, uniforms and equipment,” said Nichols.

“We are so grateful for the reinvigorated community partnership with the Brady Street BID.”

Though the current school building dates to 1905, a public school has been located on the site for decades longer than that.

“This is such a great way to showcase how these activated public spaces can be used to help strengthen community, highlight local neighborhoods to visitors and bring people together while providing much needed funds for valuable institutions and causes,” said Mike Eitel, owner of Nomad, which is a partner in Brady Beach with Club Brady.

Brady Beach operates under a City of Milwaukee active streets program that began in 2020.
