Christmas came early for the Big Gig, as pop star Justin Bieber announced today that he's headed on tour – complete with a stop at Summerfest on June 24, the opening day of the 2020 festival.

Bieber last played Milwaukee back in 2012, bringing his "Believe" tour to the BMO Harris Bradley Center. Before then, he played Summerfest in 2010.

Back then, Bieber's global reign was just beginning, starting with his teen pop YouTube sensation era – highlighted by his massive first hits, "One Time" and "Baby," in 2009 and 2010 – before moving into his "grown-up" heartthrob phase, which started with "Boyfriend" and ended with a lot of unpleasant tabloid news. But the Canadian pop star rebounded and, all the while, has continued to be one of the most popular voices in top 40 music, cranking out hits and collaborations like "What Do You Mean?", "Love Yourself," "Let Me Love You," "I'm The One," the remix of "Despacito" and many more. In the process, he won a Grammy in 2016 for Best Dance Recording with "Where Are U Now" as well as a total of 23 Teen Choice Awards – behind Taylor Swift and One Direction for the record.

No information is currently available on tickets, but stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more updates as they become available. For the time being, enjoy this surprise Christmas gift! (Or, in the words of a popular Bieber song, "Sorry.")

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
