Milwaukee’s own Melt Chocolates Ltd., 2018 S. 1st St., was honored with both gold and silver medals at the 2023 Academy of Chocolate Awards, an event that aims to identify, recognize and showcase the world’s most talented chocolate producers and finest chocolates.
Melt’s Calypso Truffle was among six submissions to win a Gold Medal in the category of “Ganache Flavoured With Alcohol Fruit Spices or Inclusions”. The truffle blends mango, habanero pepper and Jamaican Rum into milk chocolate ganache producing a truffle that begins with a burst of fruity mango and finishes with warmth from the habanero pepper.
Meanwhile, their Kashmir Truffle, which blends blueberry, cinnamon and cardamom into a velvety dark ganache, brought home a Silver Medal in the same category. The flavor of the vegan truffle begins with bold blueberry and warm cinnamon and finishes with complex citrus notes thanks to the cardamom.

"These awards from the Academy of Chocolate in London, UK, are a testament to our commitment to quality and innovation in the world of chocolate."
Rogness notes that the 2023 honors demonstrate Melt’s commitment to creating chocolates that not only delight the palate but also push the boundaries of chocolate craftsmanship.
