Somehow the great Milwaukee summer got even greater, as Potawatomi Casino Hotel announced its brand new Potawatomi Amplified concert series, complete with its first mega-star headliner: rap and pop culture icon Snoop Dogg.

The concert series will make its Snoop Dogg-led debut on Saturday, June 15, hosted in a temporary 4,800-person outdoor venue just west of the casino in the former Cargill lot. The setting is expected to feature a variety of seating options – including a pair of double-decker tents for VIPs – as well as food and drink available to purchase from local food trucks surrounding the show.

The 16-time Grammy nominee and hitmaker behind smashes like "Gin and Juice," "Drop It Like It's Hot," "Nuthin' But a G Thang" and many more last came to Milwaukee in 2019, when he joined Lil Wayne and ScHoolboy Q as Amp headliners for Summerfest's closing night.

The show is the first of three outdoor Potawatomi Amplified gigs planned for this first-ever concert series, with shows planned in July and August as well. Those two additional headliners will be announced at a later date.

“2024 will be one of the most exciting summers the city has experienced, and we wanted to give the people of Milwaukee and southeastern Wisconsin one more reason to visit Potawatomi Casino,” said CEO Dominic Ortiz, in a release. "We are rolling out Potawatomi Amplified, the temporary venue, to host three summer and early fall concerts, and we think people will be really excited when they hear the names we plan to announce."

Tickets for the show will go on sale to the public beginning Friday, May 10 at noon at Potawatomi's website. For more information on the show and the rest of the series, click here. And for more concerts coming soon, check out OnMilwaukee's monthly guide to upcoming Milwaukee shows.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
