Earlier this week 88Nine Radio Milwaukee released the list for their 4th annual Listener's Choice awards. And the list is Milwaukee hip hop heavy, continuing to show the overall acceptance that Milwaukee hip hop now has in a city that once had a reputation for overlooking (deserved or not) its own rap music.

Many of these projects and songs are ones that I included on my end of the year list and there is certain to be something for every Milwaukee hip hop fan that trends towards the more alternative or classic styles of hip hop.

As with every list, there are slots for write-in candidates so if the artist that you follow didn't find their way onto the poll this year, you can certainly include them. Check out 88Nine's suggestions and then click here to vote. The winners will be announced on February 17th on 88Nine and then later that night there will be a party at the Wherehouse, 818 S. Water Street, where they will reveal who the band of the year is.

Also, just for fun, I counted out how many suggestions they had on each list and how many of those were hip hop.

Lastly, this blog did receive a nod, and I sincerely thank 88Nine for that.
