Sephora, a force in the beauty business for nearly four decades, helps combat an issue that truly is only skin deep this Saturday, May 5.

Teaming up with the Melanoma Research Foundation, Too Faced Cosmetics, Murad, Teavana and Locker's Florists, Sephora at Mayfair Mall is hosting the "Love, Lisa Garden Tea Party," during which they'll launch the "Love, Lisa Beauty Battle Box" -- a beauty kit created by Two Faced founder Jerrod Blandino to help women safely achieve a bronzed glow. The box was inspired by his sister, Lisa Blandino, a mother battling skin cancer. Almost half of the net proceeds of this palette goes to the Melanoma Research Foundation.

The tea party includes complimentary skincare consultations from Murad and complimentary tea-tastings from Teavana. The tea company will also educate clients on the importance of an anti-oxidant rich diet -- something that Lisa Blandino has made key in her daily life.

The Melanoma Research Foundation will have volunteers in the store to discuss how their own lives have been affected by melanoma.

Sephora is currently booking appointments for both Too Faced and Murad for the event; which runs Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Contact Amber Lee Smith, Sephora at Mayfair, at (414) 257-9310.

Julie Lawrence Special to OnMilwaukee.com

OnMilwaukee.com staff writer Julie Lawrence grew up in Wauwatosa and has lived her whole life in the Milwaukee area.

As any “word nerd” can attest, you never know when inspiration will strike, so from a very early age Julie has rarely been seen sans pen and little notebook. At the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee it seemed only natural that she major in journalism. When OnMilwaukee.com offered her an avenue to combine her writing and the city she knows and loves in late 2004, she knew it was meant to be. Around the office, she answers to a plethora of nicknames, including “Lar,” (short for “Larry,” which is short for “Lawrence”) as well as the mysteriously-sourced “Bill Murray.”
