With more and more restaurants paying just as much attention to their beer and cocktail lists as their food menus, you don't have to be hungry to choose a restaurant bar for the night's destination.

With its regular live music performances, a collection of delicious micro-brews made on the spot, an incredible patio and a surprisingly warm and friendly atmosphere for its size, it's no surprise OnMilwaukee.com readers chose the Milwaukee Ale House, 233 N. Water St., as 2011's best bar in a restaurant.

And although you don't have to eat just because you are drinking at a restaurant bar, you'd be doing yourself a favor if you did at the Ale House with it's tasty burgers, salads and pizzas.
