Halloween is just around the corner, and there are almost too many spooktacular events in the Milwaukee area from which to choose. Whether you like haunted houses, walking tours, corn mazes or costume parties, here's where you'll find your guide to 2012's scary-good times.

This suspense-filled horror show follows treasure-hunter Bryant McCartle and his fiancee as they search for the ancient Alchemist Eye, an amulet that will grant them everything they desire. Shows begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10-$23.

Magic enthusiasts of all ages will enjoy the Halloween fun of David Seebach's annual Halloween production, featuring amazing broomstick levitations, the menacing giant guillotine, the gruesome "Burned Alive," sawing a woman in half with a buzzsaw and much more.
Halloween Dinner Theater: "Frankenstein" (Oct. 25-28)

There's no need to fear the dark this Halloween at Cave of the Mounds! Bring the family for seasonal crafts and stories by firelight in the Visitor Center, tour the South Cavern by candlelight, enjoy free gemstone and fossil treats and explore the scavenger hike.

Gather your little ghosts and goblins for an evening of treats at the Milwaukee Domes. Enjoy fun and frights with the family as you trick-or-treat through the Haunted Dome, enter the children's costume contest, paint pumpkins and more from 6 to 9 p.m. Hot dogs and soda will be available for purchase. Admission is $5 at the door (kids 3 and under are free).
Halloween Trick-or-Treat Spooktacular (Oct. 26)

The whole family will love trick-or-treating at the zoo, riding the Raven Rail, marching in the costume parade and watching the light show. Event runs 6-9 p.m. Oct. 26 and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.

The Pirates of McKinley Lagoon will once again set sail on Milwaukee's East Side and Downtown, ransacking bar after bar with flash mob performances of "Thriller." Zombie-fy yourself and join the fun starting at 7:30 p.m. Brush up on your "Thriller" choreography the week before by taking advantage of one or several classes at Summerfield Church, 728 E. Juneau Ave.
