Marcus Center hosts 28th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration
Celebrate the message of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at a free presentation and performance Sunday, Jan. 15 in Uihlein Hall.
This year's celebration, themed "Maintain Faith in the Future," will feature a multicultural performing arts salute to Dr. King, including performances by Capita Production's We Are The Drums, the Milwaukee Chinese Youth Orchestra, Discovering Our Destiny, Latino Arts Mariachi Juvenil and other local organizations.
The program will also honor Milwaukee-area student winners of the speech, writing and art contest inspired by this year's theme.
Milwaukee's annual program, along with that of Atlanta's, is the longest-running Dr. King celebration in the country. This year's events will run from 1 to 4 p.m.
