8-twelve Restaurant hires executive and sous chefs

SURG Restaurant Group has hired Executive Chef Rafael Elisea and Sous Chef Andrew Miller to head the kitchen at the soon-to-be-opened 8-twelve Restaurant, 17800 W. Bluemound Rd., in Brookfield.

Elisea is relocating from his position as executive chef of Graffito South, located in Wellington, Fla. Miller is an Illinois native who will bring his knowledge from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, Ill., and experience working alongside 2009 Iron Chef winner Paul Virant.

The duo will helm a varied menu of handcrafted appetizers, burgers, sandwiches and full entrees, plus housemade desserts with locally sourced ingredients.

SURG expects the restaurant, named for the jersey numbers of Brewers MVP Ryan Braun and Packers MVP Aaron Rodgers, to open in early July.
