For the 10th straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, dining guides, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as voting for your "Best of Dining 2016."

Screaming Tuna

When it comes to sushi in Milwaukee worth screaming from the rooftops about, according to our voters, there's nothing better than Screaming Tuna, delivering classic flavors and one-of-a-kind inspired fusions – with its signature rolls to sushi pizza and more. Plus, with its extra outside tables and boat parking during the warm seasons, the Walker's Point joint makes for a great warm weather destination too.

Screaming Tuna snagged the top spot in this year's poll, scoring almost 100 more votes than the sushi silver medalist, Izumi's (once a familiar face at the top of the podium). Fujiyama was hot on their tail in third place, while Rice N Roll Bistro – last year's winner in this category – and Koi Japanese Cuisine wrapped up this year's top five finishers. Or should we say rolled up (we couldn't help ourselves).

Runners up:
2. Izumi's
3. Fujiyama
4. Rice N Roll Bistro
5. Koi Japanese Cuisine

Lori Fredrich's pick: RuYi
I’ll say it: I’ve had some really bad sushi in this town. But I’ve also had some really good sushi – and yes, on occasion even the sort of sushi that comes close to rivaling what I’ve eaten in coastal spots like San Francisco. One of those spots is RuYi, where the new sushi program features the freshest of fish as well as a nice variety of options that you can’t find just anywhere.

This year we also asked a variety of prominent Milwaukeeans to weigh in on their pick for specific categories. For this category, we consulted Matt Cordio, co-founder and CEO of Startup Milwaukee, as well as co-founder of Skills Pipeline, a firm that helps growth-focused companies attract top technology talent.

Cordio's pick: Screaming Tuna

For best sushi, I have to pick my local neighborhood joint, Screaming Tuna. Nestled along the Milwaukee River in Walker's Point, Screaming Tuna offers up some awesome options.

It's a great place to share some delicious sushi and enjoy cocktails with a group of friends.
