Kids' birthday party guide, 2013

Note: The contents of this guide were checked for accuracy when this article was updated on Jan. 7, 2013 at 3:01 p.m. We continually update the thousands of articles on OnMilwaukee.com, but it's possible some details, specials and offers may have changed. As always, we recommend you call first if you have specific questions for the businesses mentioned in the guide.

Having your child's birthday party at home has its advantages. It's usually less expensive and provides an intimate environment. However, most kids eventually want to have their birthday party at a locale other than their own backyard. That's where this guide comes in handy.

Whether your kid is more bouncy or craft-oriented, there's a Brew City birthday party that can accommodate his / her wishes. The beauty of the away-from-home birthday party is that you don't have to clean up after the festivities.

Here's a list of Milwaukee businesses that offer birthday parties, and feel free to add your own via the Talkback feature.

We have used the we have used the services of Half Twisted - Half Knot in 2012 The balloon guys is very entertaining and I have never seen such elaborate and huge balloon creations. We are definitely calling him again this year. Also, last year we used the magic services of a Waukesha magician Jeff Campbell (He owns the Joke Shop in Waukesha). He is very entertaining and the kids loved him. We have not tried Great Scott, but we may check him out.

Great Scott | Jan. 14, 2013 at 9:21 a.m. (report)

Magician Great Scott here. Someone let me know about these postings. Thank you all for your words of praise. I do absolutely love performing at birthday parties (among other types of events). It is wonderful to hear back from parents such as yourselves who appreciated my work and the fun I bring to their children's parties. Kids are so naturally joyful -- it's a labor of love to entertain them and their families all across Wisconsin.
