Although undoubtedly an inconvenience not to be compared to world hunger or other issues, shattering an iPhone screen really is a drag – and one that requires research, an appointment and a lump of cash.

If this technological misfortune happens to you, here’s a guide to iPhone screen repair. Hopefully, it makes the annoying process just a tad easier.

These prices reflect a broken screen only. If the phone has more than screen damage these prices do not apply. Call ahead to make sure prices have not changed and for a precise wait time.

Apple Store
Bayshore and Mayfair Mall
It seems like having an Apple product repaired at an Apple Store is a no-brainer, but not necessarily. Apple does not repair the 5S screen, rather provides a new phone for $269. Apple does repair the screens for other models – including the 5C and the 5 – but the phone needs to be brought in for an employee to evaluate the damage and then provide a quote on the price.

If an iPhone screen is not repaired by Apple, the phone warranty is terminated. This is something to consider when choosing another business to repair a screen, even though the non-Apple shops are cheaper.
