For the 10th straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, dining guides, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as voting for your "Best of Dining 2016."

This edition of the OnMilwaukee #WeWant is chock full of souper ideas for your home or next potluck.

Use it: the ultimate pot

162 Quarts Stockpot, Lid
I made the best beer brat chili I've ever had last fall. It was perfect and delicious and I only made about 1,000 pounds of it so I froze/ate the leftovers for a month afterward. The best thing to have for a Souper Sunday is a gratuitously gigantic, ungodly pot, like this 162-quart one, so that you can make enough chili to eat it all winter (and thereby ruin all of your relationships with family/friends/coworkers).  – Jimmy Carlton

Serve in it: Jessie Voss ceramics

If you're going to eat soup, you might as well eat it in style. These artsy soup mugs are made by local ceramics artist, Jessie Voss. I have a number of ceramic pieces from her and they are durable, attractive and extremely functional. Also dishwasher and microwave save. – Lori Fredrich

Dip into it: Zuppa Toscana crockpot soup

Sure, you remember how delicious Zuppa Toscana was at Olive Garden back in the day. But, you can make that tasty concoction right at home! Fire up the crockpot and make this spicy, creamy and satisfying souper supper. – Carolynn Buser

Get one: Spice House gift certificateEvery autumn I dust off the crock pot and get serious about soups and stews. I then go through my recipes, identify my old favorites (pea and ham! chicken tortilla!) and look online for something new. Finally, I beeline for the grocery store and The Spice House, to stock up on salts and peppers and whatever else I'm in need of, from basil to saffron. I need to remember to tell my mother when she asks me what I want for my birthday that a gift card to the Spice House would not go unused. And it would also "buy" her a place at my dinner table in early fall. – Molly Snyder

Make it: Pumpkin beer cheese soup

If you need a great autumn soup recipe, why not try this pumpkin beer cheese soup? Warming, creamy, and filled with beta-carotene, this soup is a healthier take on the traditional beer cheese soup. And, if you're feeling creative, you can even serve it right out of a hollowed out pumpkin. – Lori Fredrich
