Kopp's Flavor of the Day billboard ends 20-year run
Milwaukee commuters will now have to rely on the Web for the daily flavor forecast from Kopp's Frozen Custard.
Yes, it's true, that somewhat iconic I-43 North Kopp's billboard that proudly displays the "Flavor of the Day" is in its final days.
Kopp's didn't renew the sign, owned by Clear Channel Outdoor, and, next week, Concordia University will hang its promotional hat at the space located near the Capitol Drive exit.
The billboard, featuring a big blue circle with driving directions to the Kopp's Glendale location, also scrolled the flavor of the day. Â
How will commuters handle this? Simple. Like nearly everything else in life, they'll turn to Web.
Kopps.com has the Milwaukee restaurant's flavor forecast updated daily. You also can follow Kopp's on Twitter.
A call to Kopp's seeking a comment has not yet been returned.

They do have a "Flavor Line" you can call to find out the flavors but the problem is that it is done on a 1980's answering machine and sounds like someone is recording it from across the room.
I think taking the sign down stinks and I don't like it but the phone line is another option.

mkelover - it is possible to check the flavor BEFORE you get in the car if you know you're headed that way.

I have a feeling that this has a lot more to do with money than establishing a web presence.

Too bad it's WAY too dangerous to surf the web AND drive in order to find their flavor of the day. Guess I'll just have to go to Culver's now since I see their billboards around the area.
