NLDS: Greinke to start Game 2
The Brewers' picture for the National League Division Series is becoming a little more clear.
Manager Ron Roenicke announced Friday that Zack Greinke would start Game 2 of the series, set for Sunday afternoon at Miller Park. There was some speculation that Shaun Marcum would get the assignment because Greinke started the season finale Wednesday.
Roenicke, though, opted to go with Greinke, who only threw 74 pitches in the Brewers' 7-3 victory due in large part to his work this season at Miller Park. He went 11-0 in 15 home starts with a 3.13 ERA. The Brewers won each of those games.
Shaun Marcum will start Game 3, scheduled for next Tuesday in Phoenix. No word yet on who will go in Game 4, but Roenicke has said previously that he'd like to go with a four-man rotation in the NLDS so Randy Wolf is the likely candidate.
Of course, we all thought that Marcum would be pitching Sunday, too, so anything could happen between now and then.
I'll have more from workout day at Miller Park a little later today at OnMilwaukee.com.
