The Devil's Masquerade Dance Theater Friday Night

Gypsy Moon Dance and Firebird Dance present "The Devil's Masquerade Dance Theater," based on the Russian novel The Master and Margarita 19 October at Club Anything, 807 S. 5th Street in Milwaukee.
The night will be filled with an eclectic blend of Russian Gypsy dance, Sword dance, Turkish Belly dance,Egyptian Oriental dance, and Pagan dance.
The local Gypsy Moon Dance troupe, a group of about 14 dancers led by Artistic Director Jeannette Daft and
accompanied by Viktoria Mitlyng of Chicago's Firebird Dance, will be illustrating the dark tale through dance and narration. The short version is that Satan, disguised as a magician, travels to Moscow with a group that includes an ex-choirmaster (the Master), a talking black cat, a hitman, a witch, and another character, where they proceed to target a group of the
area's literary elite. The Master's mistress, Margarita, is invited by a midnight ball, where she is invited by
Satan to become a witch. In a deal she cuts with the devil, she is rewarded by the granting of wishes, although they
don't result in quite what she'd expected.
The performance is choreographed by Daft.
