Locust Street Festival: June 9
The best fest in Riverwest marks its 37th year and expects to welcome 15,000 people, 20 bands on six outdoor stages and unique vendors. Plus, the event features the famous Beer Run, a 1.8-mile beer run / walk, that starts at 11:30 a.m.
More than 100 artists and craft booths are involved this year, as well as tarot card and palm readings, holistic health products and massage.
Plus, some of the best people-watching in the city thanks to interesting attendees adorned with provocative fashion including live snakes.
Where: Locust Street between Holton Street and Humboldt Boulevard in Riverwest.
Hours: 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
Admission: Free.
How many beers must beer runners drink? Four cups of Lakefront beer.
Additional entertainment: Ma Baensch Herring features a coloring station for kids and free herring. Plus, there'll be giant dancing puppets, Thai chi demos and Woodland Pattern will host readings by Riverwest poets and authors.

some are more serious than others myke. always good to know i've got a fan out there, though. i'd hate to be one of those people in talkback with an opinion so innocuos (sp?) you have to wonder why they bother posting at all. i'm sure if i bothered with twitter, you'd be one of my followers or whatever they're called. it's all good, though, myke. really, thanks for reading. and, as always, feel free to point out where i've been wrong, or less than honest.
