After the horrifying and heartbreaking mass shooting in Orlando this weekend – followed by news that another violent hate crime was stopped by police in California – it would have been easy and even understandable if people just stayed in the safe havens of their homes rather than go to Milwaukee’s Pride Parade.

But that’s not what happened.

Instead, the Pride Parade, which took place Sunday on South 2nd Street in Walker’s Point, drew perhaps the largest crowd of all time, packing the street for blocks and filling the neighborhood with, literally, love and rainbows.

Here are 11 more photos from the parade:

1. Balloons

2. Big ass flag

3. Smaller flag

4. Truth

5. Hands

6. Pool side

7. Dangling pride

8. "We can be heroes"

9. Prideful

10. Pride-y in pink

11. Queen of La Cage
