Mini donuts are back ... but just at Summerfest.

New food, drinks coming to Summerfest

Sure, Summerfest is about the music. But for many, it's also about the food and drink, too. Wine coolers, mozzarella sticks, roasted corn ... don't get us started.

There's so much good food, it's easy to lose track. But each year, the list gets longer. Here's a quick look at some of the new drinking and dining options at this year's Big Gig, which runs from June 27-July 1 and July 3-8.

Sil's Mini Donuts: They may be gone from their East Side hut, but this new vendor will feature freshly made mini donuts at Summerfest. Situated between the Summerfest Rock Stage and U.S. Cellular Connection Stage, customers can watch their donuts being made fresh to order.

La Coppa: This new vendor will serve its specialty, Spaghetti Gelato, made up of whipped cream, gelato, an Italian style ice cream, strawberry topping and shaved hazel nuts. You can find them near the Summerfest Rock Stage/North Market area will serve up their specialty.

Saz's Dockside Barbecue: Saz's continues its presence at Summerfest with a new, casual sit down restaurant with waitress service, and great views from the north end of the brand new BMO Harris Pavilion. The restaurant will offer chopped brisket, pulled pork, baby back ribs, sour cream and chive fries, battered fish fry and more along with premium wine and beer selections. Open from noon to midnight daily, a special Prix Fixe menu will be offered on June 27 and July 3 from 7:30 pm – close.

Martino's: The Summerfest mainstay by the Miller Lite Oasis area has added a nearly two-foot long Chicago Style hot dog to its sausage arsenal. That's a big wiener.

Leinenkugel's Summer Festeweizen 45th Anniversary Ale: In celebration of the 45th Anniversary of Summerfest, The Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company will proudly unveil this new beer during this year's Big Gig. The traditional Bavarian Style Hefeweizen, one of the oldest beer styles in the world originating over 400 years ago, is brewed with over 55 percent Malted Wheat and a touch of Oats to add a creamy finish. It's a medium-bodied brew with an effervescent finish that boasts notes of bread, banana, bubble gum and clove. Patrons can find the new beer in the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard area as well as at the Leinie's bar by the U.S. Cellular Stage, Ethnic Village area and at the new Saz's Dockside Barbecue.

Summerfest 45th Souvenir Cup: Cup stackers will be able to quench their thirst and celebrate the 45th Anniversary of Summerfest this year, when they purchase the new $9 Summerfest 45th souvenir cup. For draft beers (Miller Lite, MGD or Coors Light), you can find it at the new BMO Harris Pavilion as well as in the Harley-Davidson Roadhouse and Miller Lite Oasis areas.
