Explore the best Milwaukee has to offer with VISIT Milwaukee and OnMilwaukee this summer by "Urban Exploring." We'll be sharing parks to hike, walls to climb, rivers to paddle, trails to bike and so much more. Be a tourist in your own town and experience it with us!

Whether you are a resident of Milwaukee or just visiting, you can discover and learn more about the city you live in by brushing up on your navigation skills and going on this citywide scavenger hunt.

Geocaching allows you to go on an adventure any time, while making stops throughout Milwaukee and its neighborhoods. A geocache will help you discover the history of Milwaukee, find some local attractions or uncover tasty new restaurants. You just have to download the geocache app or get the geocache coordinates, share your location and then you are off on your new adventure.

You can do it with a group or on your own, and it's an activity for any and all ages. During this adventure, you may be sent to see an amazing view, find some knickknacks in a geocache box or find a logbook you can sign yourself. You can leave your own geocache for others to discover as well. The only rule is to leave no trace to where the geocache is, so others can enjoy the fun, too. Here are seven places you can try it out here in Milwaukee:

1. The lakefront

Find your way toward the ever-so-famous Milwaukee lakefront to see what could be hidden. Along the way, you will pass the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Oak Leaf Trail, McKinley Marina, Bradford Beach, museums and more. Head out and see all that the lakefront has to offer on this geotour

2. Gertie the Duck

Head to the Riverwalk, pay a visit to our good friend Gertie the duck and you may find a treasure along the way. Explore the Riverwalk and you may discover all of Gertie's little ducklings in the course of this adventure. Take this geotour and enjoy our great riverfront.

3. Third Ward

Travel through the historic Third Ward and see all it has to offer with shops, restaurants and more. If you look hard enough, a geocache will be waiting for you. Here is the information you'll need.

4. Marquette University

Get to know the campus better by taking a self-guided tour. Start at the Haggerty Art Museum and then make your way across campus to find what geocache the campus holds. Here is everything you need to find your way around campus.

5. Brady Street

Visit the west end of Brady Street to start your adventure. Check out its diverse food, bars and shops along the way. This boho neighborhood has its own geotour; check out the full details here.

6. The Fonz statue

Stop by and say hello to the Bronz Fonz. It's a must-see landmark in Milwaukee. Before you hit up the statue, though, you need to find a geocache to bring to it. You might as well take a pic while you’re there for a bonus! Click here to see the geotour – and download your own Bronz Fonz thumbs emoji here

7. Walker's Point

Start at some of Milwaukee’s craft breweries and then go through the area to see what one of the city's first neighborhoods holds. Some highlights include an ice cream shop, a legendary four-faced clock tower, restaurants, bars and more. Come out and do this geotour to see what Walker's Point is all about.
